HD camera and the demise of mini DV
Despite mini DV being in our opinion one of the best and most reliable camera storage formats on the market, the development of recent formats like hard drive and flash memory storage have seen many manufactures discontinue mini DV camera formats. This will no doubt eventually lead to the format being discontinued.
We're already finding it difficult to find good quality miniDV camera's on the market, as the number of camera choices drops. No doubt in a few years, we'll be looking at a situation similar to Betamax and VHS where it is almost impossible to find good players.
